Description:

Environmental remediation projects within the New Jersey Pinelands require an understanding of the unique groundwater classifications, remediation standards, and regulatory requirements that differ from other areas of the state. This course provides a practical overview of the rules governing investigation and cleanup activities in the Pinelands, with a focus on protecting this environmentally sensitive region while maintaining compliance with NJDEP requirements.
Participants will learn how Pinelands groundwater classifications influence remediation standards, how to determine background groundwater concentrations, and how to apply soil, groundwater, vapor intrusion, and permitting requirements during site remediation. The course also reviews Classification Exception Areas (CEAs) and Remedial Action Permits specific to Pinelands projects.

• Apply Class I-PL groundwater remediation standards during site investigations and cleanups.

• Calculate Class I-PL site-specific Migration to Ground Water standards.
• Navigate soil, vapor intrusion, CEA, and Remedial Action Permit requirements for projects within the NJ Pinelands.
